"Countrywide was founded with the objective of making the American Dream of Homeownership accessible, affordable and achievable for hard-working families of all ethnic backgrounds."
-- Angelo Mozilo, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Respect for diversity and a strong dedication to extending our services to our diverse community base is at the core of Countrywide's foundation as a leader in our industry. As a result, our company has evolved into more than a corporation that makes mortgage loans; we're a force in making positive differences in people's lives. Through such initiatives as our $1 Trillion Challenge - a commitment to funding $1 trillion in home loans to minority and lower-income borrowers - and our House America consumer education and counseling programs, we continue to actively demonstrate that there is a unique role for the private sector in public service.
Employment Opportunities
With tremendous enthusiasm, Countrywide launched its Multicultural Markets Priority Objective in 2002. Among other things, the initiative drives strategic partnerships and outreach efforts that increase diversity among customers, business partners, and employees. Countrywide offers a wide variety of challenging and exciting opportunities for experienced professionals at all levels. Additionally, our Countrywide University training program actively recruits from colleges and universities with highly talented and diverse student bodies.
Developing and Retaining Employees
The success of Countrywide's recruitment and Community Outreach efforts depends on our ability to provide a work environment that supports the growth and development of all employees through training and advancement opportunities.
Diversity & Inclusion Services Group (DISG)
The Diversity & Inclusion Strategies Group (DISG) is committed to serving as an active voice and provides focus, best practices, resources and programmatic solutions to ensure that Countrywide transcends its belief in diversity by being diverse and evolving as an inclusive culture. DISG provides thought leadership on diversity strategies and partners with CFC leaders to infuse diversity practices throughout the company.
DISG is responsible for the implementation of community relations programs, and sponsors the Diversity Recruitment Action Council (DRAC). DRAC is committed to achieving diversity recruitment goals by defining and implementing recruiting strategies, providing resources and education to enhance our workforce.
